In this episode, Dale and Val talk to Chulu and Robert about big projects in the UK. Arguably I think the beers got to us in this session, however, there is lots of chatter and insight into some of these iconic and well-known projects and organisations.
Whilst the boys do get a few beers in there is some clarity and unique experiences and discussions around these great programs of work.
Crossrail is a capacity enhancement rail project centred on London. It involves the laying of new 118km rail track from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west, to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.
Heathrow’s plans for expansion at the airport with a third runway to the northwest of the existing two are currently supported by Government policy through the Airports National Policy Statement. Expansion at the airport would create tens of thousands of jobs and billions in economic benefits to the UK.
Demand for aviation will recover from COVID-19, and the additional capacity at an expanded Heathrow – the UK’s only hub airport – would allow Britain as a sovereign nation to compete more effectively for trade.
