Val has a colourful background like most people who end up in the fascinating and perplexing world of project controls.
Project Controls is a world that was not always popular. It is a gruelling and intensive role, designed for people who love working with others, systems and processes. For Val, this was a perfect fit for his appetite for knowledge, challenge and uncertainty.
Val started his career in the Royal Australian Navy, which included active tours to Iraq, Afghanistan, Solomons, and East Timor, and was awarded the following medals AASM, ASM, ADM.
Val has over 16 years in Project Management, PMO, and Project Controls. He is a strong and approachable facilitator and leader in complex projects and organisations at the Portfolio, Program, and Project level. He specialises in Organisational Change, DataOps, Digital Engineering, BIM, Design Thinking, Data Modelling, Digital Integration, PMO and Project Control disciplines. Val is the Director of PMO and Digital Services for blueVisions consulting and provides his clients a way forward for traditional and future methods in managing major programs of work.
Val is an advocate for change in the project community and has committed to improving knowledge access and connection across various mediums and events that he holds around Australia. Most notably;
